It has been awhile since I last penned an article for this site. I have been pressed for time but periodically I have to write. It seemed at this point that things are getting worse and worse each day. Mores and values held dear are slowly being replaced with the fad of today ... if it feels right, do it, even if it is immoral.
It is noticeable more each day that the world is in a crisis and people are looking to find solutions. Where can we look for the solutions/directions? Can the mores of the world in general suffice? Do values seem to change depending upon who is the recipient or perpetrator? Does what is true depends on one's pocketbook/status/affluence.
The scripture tells us to look unto the Jesus, the author and Finisher of our faith. It is only our dependence/reliance on the Prince of peace that will guarantee our success, our weathering the storm - "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" Philippians 4:13. Christ is the one who vicariously died for us, making possible our redemption through His blood.
He woes us through the Holy Spirit, the Comforter , Who directs and leads us into all truth. The Holy Spirit is Christ's Representative here on earth who seeks to unify the Church. Jesus noted in Luke 19:10 that He came to seek and save that which was lost. This was manifested throughout His earthly ministry. He commissioned His disciples on His departure from earth to go and make disciples and instruct them accordingly.
On the cross, He delayed death long enough to offer salvation to a dying thief - Luke 232:39-43. In John 4, He dialogued with the Samaritan woman at the well as he sought to offer her life eternal. He communed with Nicodemus in John 3, telling him about being born again. His many healings of the diseased were indicative of His restorative ministry.
Today,we all need His wondrous touch. Why not invite Him to come in and sup with us and He with us - Revelation 3:20-21. Christ is willing to save us all, if we trust Him and exercise faith in Him - forging a relation that is paramount to our very existence. If today you hear His voice harden not your hearts - Hebrews 3:8,15, 4:7. Let us develop a relationship with Him that will usher us into eternal life.

Life goes on
Over the past months, many things have happened: parts of trees have injured or killed individuals; raging fires have done multiple damages; airliners have crashed; small planes have crashed; political unrest - e.g. Egypt; ongoing famines/starvation; man to man being so unjust; crime rates escalating. Yes, things are getting progressively worse.
As we reflect on what Jesus said in Matthew 24, we realize that the end of the world is upon us. The world needs hope and the Bible offers consolation regardless of the slump that it is in. We realize that we cannot put our trust in man but in God - Psalm 146:3.
Man has been going further and further away from the principles of God and have been reaping the world wind for his efforts. We are told through the Scriptures that a terrible time is coming and the fact that it is only Jesus who can help us to weather the storm. God calls all of us to repent, break up our fallow ground, invite Him in so that He can save us - (Revelation 3:20-21) " Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne."
Will we try Him today? Many of us have tried everything else but have neglected Jesus. Paul stated in Hebrews 12: 1-2,
" Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Why not give Jesus a chance to make a positive difference in our lives?
Be blessed!

No Time for a Breather
It appears that weshould take the Bible seriously when Jeremiah states,
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" - 17:9. Despite this, I am happy that Jeremiah also states " Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is." - 17:7. Every day we are appalled by the cruel, inhumane, and pernicious acts that are being committed among us humans. We may wonder what sparks such cruelty and untowards behaviours.
If we consider that the Bible states that we are sinful , it is then understandable that we are predisposed to these heinous traits. The bigger picture being the Great Controversy between Good and Evil, between God and the Devil. Yes, we are more likely to do evil than good if God is not our helper and the source of our strength.
The Bible teaches us that we need not be the monsters that Satan wants us to be. We can shun the appearance of evil if we surrender to Jesus making Him our all in all - our panacea for man's deficiencies which were ushered in through the fall in the Garden of Eden. Brothers and Sisters we are witnessing the love of many waxing cold because iniquity abounds - Matthew 24:12.
Today things that are immoral, demeaning, and wrong seemed to be glorified - begging the question where are we heading calling good evil and evil good. The fad is do it, if it feels good, forget about everyone else. In some spheres we have start to use the word "bad" to mean good.
Christ our hope has paid the price on Calvary to redeem fallen man - we are free moral agents to accept or reject our gift of salvation. However, I pray that we will not reject but accept Christ into our lives - If you hear Him calling harden not your heart.
Be blessed!

The Times
On the final Tax Day, April 15, 2013 there was the Boston bombing which came as a surprise to everyone. It was the time of the Boston Marathon which has being celebrated for years - Patriot's Day, the 3rd Monday in April - it commenced in 1897. How could someone even think of doing such a heinous act!
Certainly, we are all sadden by such a pernicious act. Some of us are not surprised because we have been told in the Scripture that "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" -- Jeremiah 17:9. We are also reminded in Matthew 24:12 "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."
Man has advanced technologically, medically, intellectually, but has suffered moral decay - social injustices have increased tremendously as improved/new ways to cheat and impoverished have come to bear.
As depicted in the book of Amos if we do not return to the Almighty, we will be eternally lost. Our defiance and selfish ways attribute to the turmoil that many nations face today. Will we heed the Master's call as God calls us back to enter a relationship with Him that will save us ultimately from our sinful state - All have sinned and come short of the glory of God - Romans 3:23
My Brothers and Sisters, we are living in perilous times when men hearts are becoming as cold as ice. When we no longer value human life and foster respect and morality. We as a people have engaged in abominable acts and feel that these untoward behaviors are in sync with God's plans.
As the book of Joel urges, let us call a solemn fast, call a solemn assembly and weep between the porch and the altar - our soul's salvation hangs in the balance.
Yes, there is mercy lingering; let us seek and accept it while mercy still lingers. May God bless each of us as we seek His face and surrender to him.
Be blessed!

Month 4 has began
It has been quite an interesting quarter; So many odds are against us. However, God has been our Guide through these tumultuous times. He promises not to leave us nor forsake us. It is so sweet to rest in His arms.
The world seems so bent on destroying each other. Look at the North Korea issue. See how many folks have died violently these past three months. What about the suicide rate? What about the divorce rate? Things undoubtedly are worsening and where does that leave us - is it hopeless!
Jesus is always offering us a better way - the reason He came and died on Calvary "so whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life ( John 3:16). Love is the missing ingredient in our world today - " Because iniquity shall abound the love of many shall wax cold " Matthew 24:12. People seem so bent on hurting each other, digging up dirt, venturing into others closets pulling out their skeletons, suing, disrespecting others, to say the least. Where will all this end?
Let us approach God's throne of grace to obtain grace and find help in the time of need - Hebrews 4:16. Are Christians nowadays living up to their God given responsibilities? Let us all review our relationship with the Master and make amends where necessary.
Be blessed and let not your heart be troubled.
Read John 14.

1st Month gone
Now we have crossed over into month, number 2. How has it been so far? Have we started out on our journey as we planned? What about our resolutions? I hope we have placed God at the forefront of our minds. Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus - Philippians 2:5.
Let us continue to allow God to be first in our lives as we ask for His continued guidance. Remember, He sacrificed Himself in order to save us from our sins. Who else do you know who has done such for us - greater love hath no man than this.
I hope we will have a blessed weekend and remember, put God first.
Maranatha!

The New Year - 2013
According to the Bible officially the New Year began at sunset, Monday, December 31, 2012. For the "real" world it began at midnight, Monday, December 31, 2012. Well, regardless of its commencement, the New Year is here and it will continue to roll regardless of what we do.
A popular thing that is practised is the making of resolutions for the New Year. How many of us are so bent on making resolutions every year and within weeks abandon them? I want to suggest that we resolve to make Jesus the CHIEF in our lives -- accept Him today. As the song says "Jesus is the answer for the world today" and " Jesus never fails".
My friends, Jesus can make the difference in our lives -- why not trust Him today -- surrender to Him today while there is still life. Take Jesus with you everywhere you go , let Him be your guide from this day onward.
Hebrews 13:5 says, "... I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Isaiah 43:2 says, " When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee."
I want all of us that read this post to realize that Jesus wants to be your Redeemer, Friend, Saviour, our panacea. Will you give Him a chance? Personally, I have found that when things are not going well, I can trust Him to work out everything for my good. I am not saying that I only love Him to deliver me in the bad times, but that I will trust Him whether things are good, bad or in between. -- He is the Author and Finisher of my faith, Hebrews 11:2.
