The Times
On the final Tax Day, April 15, 2013 there was the Boston bombing which came as a surprise to everyone. It was the time of the Boston Marathon which has being celebrated for years - Patriot's Day, the 3rd Monday in April - it commenced in 1897. How could someone even think of doing such a heinous act!
Certainly, we are all sadden by such a pernicious act. Some of us are not surprised because we have been told in the Scripture that "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" -- Jeremiah 17:9. We are also reminded in Matthew 24:12 "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."
Man has advanced technologically, medically, intellectually, but has suffered moral decay - social injustices have increased tremendously as improved/new ways to cheat and impoverished have come to bear.
As depicted in the book of Amos if we do not return to the Almighty, we will be eternally lost. Our defiance and selfish ways attribute to the turmoil that many nations face today. Will we heed the Master's call as God calls us back to enter a relationship with Him that will save us ultimately from our sinful state - All have sinned and come short of the glory of God - Romans 3:23
My Brothers and Sisters, we are living in perilous times when men hearts are becoming as cold as ice. When we no longer value human life and foster respect and morality. We as a people have engaged in abominable acts and feel that these untoward behaviors are in sync with God's plans.
As the book of Joel urges, let us call a solemn fast, call a solemn assembly and weep between the porch and the altar - our soul's salvation hangs in the balance.
Yes, there is mercy lingering; let us seek and accept it while mercy still lingers. May God bless each of us as we seek His face and surrender to him.
Be blessed!

Month 4 has began
It has been quite an interesting quarter; So many odds are against us. However, God has been our Guide through these tumultuous times. He promises not to leave us nor forsake us. It is so sweet to rest in His arms.
The world seems so bent on destroying each other. Look at the North Korea issue. See how many folks have died violently these past three months. What about the suicide rate? What about the divorce rate? Things undoubtedly are worsening and where does that leave us - is it hopeless!
Jesus is always offering us a better way - the reason He came and died on Calvary "so whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life ( John 3:16). Love is the missing ingredient in our world today - " Because iniquity shall abound the love of many shall wax cold " Matthew 24:12. People seem so bent on hurting each other, digging up dirt, venturing into others closets pulling out their skeletons, suing, disrespecting others, to say the least. Where will all this end?
Let us approach God's throne of grace to obtain grace and find help in the time of need - Hebrews 4:16. Are Christians nowadays living up to their God given responsibilities? Let us all review our relationship with the Master and make amends where necessary.
Be blessed and let not your heart be troubled.
Read John 14.
