The First Six Month Has Passed

The first six months have passed and we have started the last half of 2014. As we reflect on the last six months, what has changed for the worst; what has changed for the best? I am sure there were challenges, there were possibly agonies and defeats but there were victories.

Another six months to go and what can we expect? We are not sure but God has promised to be our fortress and guide. "Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid" ( John 14). "The Lord is my light and salvation, whom shall I fear" (Psalm 27).

It is with hope in the Lord that I face another day. Tomorrow is Independence Day! What are our plans for the day? I hope that whatever they are that we will firstly, give God thanks for allowing us another opportunity in seeing another Independence Day. I pray that we will take Him through the day with us and end the day with Him. I also hope we will daily start the day with Him; carry Him with us through the day; and end the day with Him.

Let God always be our guide regardless of our circumstance. Let us give Him the glory, the honor, and the praise.

Happy Independence Day when it comes!

The Signs

We are told that we should pray that our flight not be in the winter( Matthew 24:20). So far in  2014, we in MN and adjoining states are realizing more and more what it would feel like, to be fleeing in these frigid temperatures. However, we know from the Scripture that God promises to supply all that we need. In the time for Martin Luther and others it was evident that Providence took care of His people. Regardless, of the situations that present themselves, we still have this assurance.

CNN has been highlighting the inclement weather in Alabama, Atlanta and other areas in the South - where it has been chaotic for many living in these area - wintry blasts, ice etc. We will also note that weather worldwide has been unprecedented/extraordinary. These are undoubtedly signs of the time noted in the Scripture - it appears that this is just the tip of the iceberg, sadly worse is yet in the offing. We have to brace ourselves for the worst. However, God is still on the throne and will take care of us through thick and thin.

Let us keep our eyes upon the prize. Let us lay up for ourselves treasure in heaven and not focus on earthly riches which will pass away ( Matthew 6:19-21). Let us be hardy soldiers of the cross and do as God asks, " to do justly, and to love mercy, and walk humbly with thy God," Micah 6:8. Let us meditate on
1 Corinthians 2:9, "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."  - the best is yet to come - eternal life - what a day of victory that will be!

Be blessed!

Day Two of 2014

It is such a blessing that we survived day one of 2014. Where do we go from here. We are alive and kicking, so let us continue to give thanks. I was privileged to attend a wedding of two of my church members yesterday; I thought this was indeed a great way to kick off the New Year, as we all celebrated this beautiful institution of marriage sanctioned by God. It made we reflect on my wedding day and the vows taken. It also caused me to re-examine the vows I made to the Lord. I realize that we need to be examining our standing with God daily, hourly, secondly, and if possible nano-secondly. Brethren, we need to keep our eyes on the prize -eternal life through Christ Jesus.

Let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap if we faint not - Galatians 6:9. My devotion reading today, reminded me that this maybe my last communique; for surely we do not know when we may pass on. However, we should do all the good we can, while we can - tomorrow is promised to no man. Let us walk as the Lord wants us to; let us surrender to God as we ought to and leave everything in His hands. Yes, it is easier said than done but with God all is possible.

May we find peace today and and forever as we lean on the everlasting arms of Prince Emmanuel, the Author and Finisher of our faith, who will weather the storm with us if we let Him - He will never leave us alone.

Be blessed!

So We Made It

Happy New Year - 2014.  So we made it into 2014. Praise the Lord!! I am sure that you know of friends/associates/strangers who died during 2013 - it maybe millions worldwide. Yet we are still alive, so what will we do in 2014?

Firstly, we give thanks to the God, the Almighty for waking us up this morning and we are still clothed in our right minds. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!!

Secondly, we ask Him to be with us throughout today (and all of our days). Lead on oh King eternal.

Thirdly, give us our daily bread - God knows we need both spiritual and physical food.

Fourthly, Deliver us from evil - keep us safe amidst this world of sin and grief.

It is so great to have Someone, Who we can talk to at any time/ 24/7. Let us seize this opportunity today to invite Him/continue to invite Him into our hearts. Ask Him to fill us with His presence through the Holy Spirit. Remember the words of Apostle Paul, " I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me." -  Philippians 4:13 . Also " But my God shall supply all your need according to His richest in glory by Christ Jesus" - Philippians 4:19

Let us resolve to "press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus" - Philippians 3:14; endeavoring to be God's disciples and a friend to humanity.

Be blessed!
