God is still in the saving business

It has been awhile since I last penned an article for this site. I have been pressed for time but periodically I have to write. It seemed at this point that things are getting worse and worse each day. Mores and values held dear are slowly being replaced with the fad of today ... if it feels right, do it, even if it is immoral.

It is noticeable more each day that the world is in a crisis and people are looking to find solutions. Where can we look for the solutions/directions? Can the mores of the world in general suffice? Do values seem to change depending upon who is the recipient or perpetrator? Does what is true depends on one's pocketbook/status/affluence.

The scripture tells us to look unto the Jesus, the author and Finisher of our faith. It is only our dependence/reliance on the Prince of peace that will guarantee our success, our weathering the storm - "I can do all things through Christ which  strengtheneth me" Philippians 4:13. Christ is the one who vicariously died for us, making  possible our  redemption through His blood.

He woes us through the Holy Spirit, the Comforter , Who directs and leads us into all truth. The Holy Spirit is Christ's Representative here on earth who seeks to unify the Church. Jesus noted in Luke 19:10 that He came to seek and save that which was lost. This was manifested throughout His earthly ministry. He commissioned His disciples on His departure from earth to go and make disciples and instruct them accordingly.

On the cross, He delayed death long enough to offer salvation to a dying thief - Luke 232:39-43. In John 4, He dialogued with the Samaritan woman at the well as he sought to offer her life eternal. He communed with Nicodemus in John 3, telling him about being born again. His many healings of the diseased were indicative of  His restorative ministry.

Today,we all need His wondrous touch. Why not invite Him to come in and sup with us and He with us - Revelation 3:20-21. Christ is willing to save us all, if we trust Him and exercise faith in Him - forging a relation that is paramount to our very existence.  If today you hear His voice harden not your hearts - Hebrews 3:8,15, 4:7. Let us develop a relationship with Him that will usher us into eternal life.
