Life goes on

Over the past months, many things have happened: parts of trees have injured or killed individuals; raging fires have done multiple damages; airliners have crashed; small planes have crashed; political unrest - e.g. Egypt; ongoing famines/starvation; man to man being so unjust; crime rates escalating. Yes, things are getting progressively worse.

As we reflect on what Jesus said in Matthew 24, we realize that the end of the world is upon us. The world needs hope and the Bible offers consolation regardless of the slump that it is in. We realize that we cannot put our trust in man but in God - Psalm 146:3.

Man has been going further and further away from the principles of God and have been reaping the world wind for his efforts. We are told through the Scriptures that a terrible time is coming and the fact that it is only Jesus who can help us to weather the storm. God calls all of us to repent, break up our fallow ground, invite Him in so that He can save us  - (Revelation 3:20-21) " Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne."

Will we try Him today? Many of us have tried everything else but have neglected Jesus. Paul stated in Hebrews 12: 1-2,
" Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."  Why not give Jesus a chance to make a positive difference in our lives?

Be blessed!
